Huey Percy Newton was born on Februin Monroe (a city northeast of Louisiana).Newton also used his position as a Black Panther Party leader to embrace women and LGBT people into the organisation, considering homosexuals to be "the most oppressed people in society." Newton was notable for his support of communist-led governments around the world, as well as his support for self-defence and Palestinian statehood.In 1967, with the help of his Party, he created the Ten Point Program (inspired by Marxism), which stated what the party wanted to achieve.
